Promptery is designed with privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable privacy laws including GDPR and CCPA.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive and store:

  • Your email address
  • Your name (if provided by Google)
  • Your profile picture URL (if available)

Usage Data

We store the following to provide our services:

  • Your subscription tier and purchase history
  • AI credit usage and balance
  • Shared link metadata (not content)

Content You Create

Prompts: Stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your prompts.

Contexts: When you create a shareable link, context content is stored on our servers only until the link expires or is revoked, after which the content is no longer accessible via the link. Share links function like time-limited, presigned URLs. Content is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), is served with no-store/no-cache HTTP directives, and is blocked from search-engine indexing and archival.

Analytics and Cookies

We use the following services to understand how our website is used:

  • Google Analytics – Collects anonymized usage data (page views, session duration, etc.)
  • Vercel Analytics – Performance metrics for our website

Cookie Consent: We ask for your consent before enabling analytics cookies. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

With your consent, we use cookies to:

  • Remember your cookie preference
  • Collect anonymized analytics data

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and maintain your account
  • Process purchases and manage subscriptions
  • Enable context sharing features
  • Track AI credit usage
  • Improve our services (with anonymized analytics)
  • Send important service updates (rarely)

We never sell your personal data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase – Database and authentication. Privacy Policy
  • Polar – Payment processing. Privacy Policy
  • Google Analytics – Website analytics (with consent). Privacy Policy
  • OpenAI / Anthropic – AI processing for prompt optimization and context creation (data not stored by these services beyond processing).

Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • Shared context content is deleted when links expire or are revoked, and is blocked from search-engine indexing and caching while a link is active
  • Local prompt data remains on your device under your control
  • Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated

AI Assistants, Crawlers & Share Links

Shared context links are designed for ephemeral, on-demand access. We apply the following technical measures to prevent shared content from being retained, indexed, cached, or used for training:

  • On-demand LLM assistants (for example, when you paste a share link into ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or a similar assistant) may fetch and display the content while the link is valid. These assistants act on a user's explicit request and are not permitted to retain the content beyond that session.
  • Search-engine indexers and bulk AI training crawlers (Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot, CCBot, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot, Applebot, and similar) are blocked from /c/ viarobots.txt and HTTP directives, so shared content does not appear in search results, cached snapshots, or AI training corpora.
  • All /c/ responses are served withCache-Control: no-store andX-Robots-Tag: noindex, noarchive, nosnippet to prevent caching, indexing, and archival by third parties.
  • Once a link expires or is revoked, the URL returns no content. The content is not retained by Promptery beyond the link's lifetime.
  • We cannot guarantee the behavior of crawlers that ignorerobots.txt or noindex directives. For highly sensitive content, use the optional password-protection feature when creating a share link.

Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access – Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification – Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure – Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability – Receive your data in a portable format
  • Object – Opt out of certain data processing
  • Withdraw Consent – Revoke consent for analytics at any time

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption

Promptery is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
