Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, and using Promptery (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

Description of Service

Promptery is a native macOS application for managing prompts, contexts, and reusable AI skills. Features available to you depend on your purchased tier and any active add-on. The App may provide:

• Prompt library with global hotkey access
• Context creation from documents, URLs, and conversations
• Secure, expiring shareable links for contexts
• Skills and MCP server integration on Premium
• Optional cloud backup and AI features through the monthly Cloud Add On

Tiers and Pricing

Promptery offers three tiers as one-time purchases:

• Basic ($5 USD) – Unlimited prompts, global hotkeys, tags and categories
• Pro ($19 USD) – Basic features plus contexts (up to 1,000 words), secure sharing links, embeds, and BYOK
• Premium ($49 USD) – Pro features plus Skills, MCP server integration, and unlimited context length

The optional Cloud Add On is a separate monthly subscription available after a tier purchase. It includes cloud backup and monthly AI credits; it is not included in any one-time tier:

• Lite ($5/month) – 10 AI credits and up to 500 cloud documents
• Plus ($9/month) – 30 AI credits and up to 1,000 cloud documents
• Power ($19/month) – 100 AI credits and up to 5,000 cloud documents

License

Upon purchase, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased Promptery tier on Mac computers associated with your account. The one-time purchase is intended to provide ongoing use of that tier’s app features. This license includes:

• Continued use of the purchased tier’s features in the app, subject to the service dependencies described below
• Updates and improvements made available for your tier while they are offered
• Use on multiple Mac devices linked to your account

You may not redistribute, resell, or share access to your Promptery account with others.

Some account, entitlement, sharing, AI, and cloud features rely on online services. Those hosted features require those services to remain available and are not promised to operate indefinitely. Your prompts and other library data are stored locally on your device, and the Cloud Add On provides an additional cloud copy. If Promptery’s online services are discontinued, we intend, where technically feasible, to provide an app update that removes server checks so locally stored library features can continue to work offline. This is an intended fallback, not a guarantee that an update can be provided or that online features will continue after service discontinuation.

User Accounts

Promptery requires a user account authenticated via Google OAuth. By creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate account information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

Payment and Refunds

Payments are processed through Polar. Tier purchases are one-time payments. The Cloud Add On is a monthly subscription, billed on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can cancel the subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals, and access remains subject to the paid-through period and the subscription terms shown at checkout.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, purchases are final and payments are non-refundable. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Promptery only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the App to store or share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
• Share your account credentials or transfer your license
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Shared Links

Pro and Premium users can create shareable links for contexts. Share links are time-limited and may be password-protected. You are responsible for the content you share and acknowledge that:

• Links are accessible to anyone with the URL until they expire or are revoked
• Once expired or revoked, a link serves no content and the underlying context is no longer accessible via that URL
• Anyone with a valid share URL may access its content; third parties given the link may process or retain copies under their own policies
• We use expiration, revocation, and technical directives intended to limit caching and indexing, but cannot guarantee that all third parties will comply or that previously obtained copies will be removed
• You must not share confidential or sensitive information without proper authorization; for sensitive content, use the optional password-protection feature when creating a share link
• We may remove content that violates these terms

Disclaimer of Warranties

Promptery is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the application will be error-free or uninterrupted. We are not responsible for the accuracy or quality of outputs from third-party AI services.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Promptery and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the application.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Promptery after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
